Sailing on the Saronic Gulf — departure from Athens
The route starts at Athens, most often from marinas such as Alimos or Lavrion, which are excellently connected to the airport and the city center. It is the proximity of Athens that is the greatest advantage of the Saronic Gulf — just a few hours after sailing you enter the world of islands, crystal clear sea and authentic ports. The wind here is mostly moderate, the distances are short and the anchorages are safe, which makes this route also ideal for shorter tours or an extended weekend.
The route through Aegina, Poros, Idra and Dokos provides the perfect balance between lively island centers and completely peaceful, wild coves.
Aegina — monastery and pistachios

Aegina is the closest island to Athens and often the first stop on the route. It is known for its famous pistachios and rich history, but also for one of the most important shrines in Greece — the monastery of St. Nectarius. The imposing monastery complex attracts believers and visitors from all over the world and is an important spiritual center of the island.
The port of Aegina is lively, with a long promenade and numerous taverns. The island is a combination of local life, spiritual traditions and cozy bays suitable for anchoring. It is an ideal start to the tour — dynamic enough, but also relaxed enough.
Poros — pine forests and romantic atmosphere
Poros is one of the most beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf. The city is built amphitheatrically, with a characteristic clock tower dominating the skyline. The narrow passage between Poros and Peloponnese gives a special charm to sailing - ships pass right along the coast, creating an intimate atmosphere.
Pine forests descend to the sea itself, and the numerous bays on the eastern side of the island are perfect for daytime swimming and relaxation. Poros is elegant, calm and very photogenic.
Hydra — an island without cars

Idra is one of the most special islands in Greece. There are no cars on the island — transportation is done on foot, by boat or donkey, which gives it a completely different atmosphere. Stone houses, narrow streets and a semicircular arch make Idra one of the most beautiful sights in the Saronic Gulf.
Sailing in the port of Idre is an experience in itself — ships tie their stern along the coast, while life unfolds right by the sea. The island has an artistic spirit, a sophisticated atmosphere and excellent restaurants, but also hidden coves ideal for daytime anchoring.
Dokos — complete peace and wild nature

Dokos is the exact opposite of Idra — an almost uninhabited island with no infrastructure, perfect for those seeking tranquility and an authentic experience of nature. Its bays offer extremely clean sea and safe anchorages.
A night spent at anchor near Dokos is often the highlight of the tour — without the lights of the city, only the starry sky and the light sound of the sea. This island reminds of the essence of sailing: simplicity, tranquility and complete freedom.
